Review of The Gunslinger by Stephen King ( first book of the dark tower series)

IN this gripping Stephen King novel you are thrust into a world where just like the main character Roland, you have little idea which way is up or down, or even if you are among the living or the dead. In some books, you know somewhat what to expect or what may lie ahead. And the author might lay it all out for you. Writing about who the character is, why they are there and so on. King doesn’t make it that easy. As Roland roams through the darkness, with his guns at his hips, and the man in black following him you become  the detective trying to put the what, where and why together like a ten thousand piece jigsaw puzzle. By the end you are turning those last few blank pages looking for more; more answers, more background, more information. Well I suppose its lucky there are six more books for me to continue that quest.
